heat? humping my arm

I was wondering when my four month old cocker spaniel will come into heat?  She also tries to hump my arm, is this normal?

Hi Nancy, usually its around six months however this is not a hard and fast rule, my girly was 13months old before her first season, this is quite late but again not unusual, If she dosent come into season by then i would advise you to give your vet a quick ring to see what he has to say. As for her humping your arm (he he he) that is quite funny but probably not for you, this is just her hormones coming into action, just gently try to discourage her, one of my puppies is around the same age and her owner tells me she humps a teddy bear, its all quite normal, just part of their growing up stage (bless them). Hope this helps. And hope she stops doing that soon.
