Question
I have a 7 by/O male cocker.  this past weekend we had a friend rake care of him, and now that we are back he isn't acting normally.  Unfortunately we cant get ahold of our friend to ask question, so here goes.  In the past 4 days he has started walking backwards, developed diarrhea, and today my wife noticed blood in his urine.  we called to talk to the vet and they said to just bring him in to the hospital.  well unfortunately that become extremely expensive if it is something simple.  he also has lost his appetite except for dog treats.  we did feed him some cook white rice and were told to give him some pedialyte in his water to help with electrolytes.  after palpating around his whole body he doesn't seem to be guarding anything.  any help would be great.  thanks

Answer
Bryan, your boy needs to see a vet.  What you're describing is serious.  You must bite the bullet and get him medical help.  Call now.  Go quickly.  This is nothing to "wait & see" about.
If this were my dog I'd be on my way to the ER.

And, don't EVER leave him with this "friend" again.
