My cocker is only 6 months and is tired all the time!

My cocker is only 6 months old and is sleeping all the time. My boyfriend and I went away for a week in August and had one of my friends take care of him. Ever since we got him back he has been very tired and sleepy. He also doesn't eat his food regularly. Before we went away he used to be soo energetic and playful. It has been 4 weeks and he still isn't back to his normal self.
Also, when I take my dog out he sometime barks and chases the people who walk by. I don't have him on a leash but he is usually is very good.
Another thing is his breath has been smelling horrible. My friend who took care of him told me she fed him things like cereal, baby food, and who knows what else. I was very upset by that but there was nothing I could do.
I need advice!

You need to take him to the vet.

And, please, keep him on leash during walks.  It's upsetting and frightening for people to be chased by a barking dog.  And it's dangerous for him.  One mistake and he's under a car.

Please find out from your friend all the things she fed him and tell the vet.  Baby food has onion powder in it many times and can poison a dog.  The symptoms you're describing in a six month old puppy are serious.  So get him medical attention immediately.
