Another puppy?

Question
Hi there,
I have an adorable 2 and a half year old boxer, and my parents are thinking about getting another one. Originally, they were going to get a rescue boxer but I pointed out that it may have a harder time to train and settle in with Dottie (our boxer).
Then I said how about a puppy, and it seems if we're going to get another boxer, we'll be going down that route. I was wondering, do you think Dottie will be ok with a puppy, like be a mother towards it?
She has been spayed (I'm not sure if that makes any difference).
We just don't want Dottie feeling rejected.
Many thanks,
Lara

Answer
It depends, some dogs are great with other dogs and welcome them in to their home, some aren't so friendly. Look at how she is with other dogs generally. Dogs she meets in the park etc. Just make sure that she still gets most of the attention, and dosn't feel left out. Also introduce them on neutral ground and be careful if the pup goes near your dogs food dish or bed, toys etc. Some dogs hate this. Just be careful.
