Question
vince and lisa,
We have a 7 month old boxer pup, shes female and we think she is large for a female boxer of that age. she measures 23 inches from her paw to her shoulder, and we were wondering how big, as an estimate do you think she will grow to as she is only 7 months old, still has the lump on her head, considering boxers dont mature untill 2-3 years old???

Answer
The male Boxer usually stands around 22-25 inches in height, and weighs approximately 60-70 pounds (can vary according to bone frame: small, medium, and large framed weighs less to more). Female Boxers stand around 21-24 inches in height, and weighs around 55-65 pounds (same as above bone frame).

You didn't mention her weight. If she is 23" already, she probably weighs between 50-60 lbs. now.

Some mature physically faster than others, as in people. She's reaching her adult height, and weight will increase as she ages.

She's perfectly normal and on time in her stature. She's probably a larger framed Boxer.

The "lump" on her her is referred to in the Boxer world as "knobby head." This is still puppy and will flatten out around 1- 1 /2 years old. She's normal.
