Question
Hi have just found your site, I have a boxer who was mated on the 9th and 11th Febuary her appetite has been decreasing for the last few weeks and have been managing to tempt her with bits but yesterday and today have only been managing to get her to eat a few nibbles. I was just wondering if this is normal or if i should be concerned thanks Libby

Answer
She could be approximately 31-33 days pregnant and canine gestation period is around 60-63 days...

Is she showing signs of pregnancy; swollen teats and vulva, any bulging on the sides of her stomach, more frequent urination, mood changes, or restlessness?

Take her to the vet to check for pregnancy.

If she is, feed her high-protein puppy chow during her pregnancy and after whelping all through nursing newborn puppies.

Educate yourself in whelping and the care of mom and newborns. This is critical.

Until you get her to a vet for a pregnancy check, go ahead and feed her puppy chow and add 1/2 cup plain, while yogurt on it (no flavored yogurt) to help her digestive system, overall health and stimulate her appetite.
