coat color change

Question
I have 9 month old "Flashy Fawn" female boxer, I noticed a few weeks ago that both shoulders have gone a lighter color than the rest of her coat, about palm size, she eats and drinks ok and her stools are ok, her bahaviour has not changed. I was advised to give her Omega 369 and change her diet to a fish diet which I have done with no change. I did take her to two vets and give her a medication to flush her system, also "Intercepter" and deworming pill. She does scratch now and again in these ares. Any guidance you can give would be much appreciated

Answer
Hi Grahame,

A lighter color hair at the shoulders is not unusual in Boxers. Often you'll see "whorls" or cowlicks in that area as well, where the hair growth changes direction. Sometimes you can strip out excess dead hairs from the shoulders and this will diminish the disparity in color from the rest of the coat.

Given that she's seen the vets and everything else with her is fine, I'd say this is simply an anomaly and nothing to worry about.

Good luck!
