can she go insane? she was always a loner but she tries to get out of the house and she acts totally different and this has been ongoing for several weeks.

Thank you for your question.
This is quite normal to see a change in behaviour when your cat is out of the house!  Cat are predatory animal and when they are out of the home they are display predatory hunting instincts.
