Question
Hi
We have two female cats, and one has just given birth to four beautiful kittens. While the mother and kittens are getting on fine, our other cat keeps on climbing into the box where the mother and kittens are, To help look after them. Sometimes the other cat actually steps on the kittens, and they give out a squeal. Is it possible that our other cat could kill the kittens? And should i keep our other cat away from the mother and her kittens?

Answer
Dear Tom

Thank you for your question.
If the mother cat doesn't not act aggressively or becomes stressed, then the other cats being around should be fine.

I would make sure you are around when the other cats want to investigate the kittens, just incase any aggressive behaivour arises.

Kind Regards

Richella
