Answer
Pendray,

Calm down! If it were me, I would take him to a spay and neuter clinic (or maybe your SPCA spays and neuters) tomorrow! Tell them the problem. I've never heard of not neutering a cat because of shots. They only have to give him a some light anesthesia. It's not any major surgery for a male cat. It takes less than 5 minutes.

Your question is the perfect example of why cats need to be neutered early. In fact I just had two kittens neutered and they were only eleven weeks old!

Are any of the other cats tomcats? If they are I sure wouldn't pay anyone's vet bills!

There is not much you can do to quiet him down except for neutering. Try to feed him a lot (give him canned food) to try to make him full and sleepy. And try get his mind off of things by tiring him out. Get a rope or string and pull it around, or get a pet laser light. They LOVE to chase the little red 'bug' on the floors and ceilings.

Keep the window blinds or curtains closed where he can't see other cats. That doesn't help all that much though because he can smell females, even indoors.

He may still spray afterwards, but it WON'T have that horrible tomcat smell.

I know how annoying it is, but PLEASE, try not to get mad at him, yell at him, or hit him. He can't help it! It's just nature that is causing his behavior, and punishing him is only confusing him because he's not really doing anything wrong and he won't understand. He is just reacting. He REALLY can't help it.

I sympathize with you, I've been through it too. Try to get him done ASAP! You can find SOMEWHERE to take him, I'm sure.
