Cat that wants to go out

A friend moved recently far away from her original home.  Her cat used to move freely outside the house.  At the new house, she keeps the cat inside all the time because she fears it can get lost outside.  The cat tries to go out all the time and meows with a sad tone.  Is there any training for the cat to help it know the neighborhood, so it doesn't get lost?

Thank you for your question.

Cats only have a very small radius they will exercise around when out.  Make sure your cat knows it's name when you call it, it's you need to ever shout for your cat to come in.  Make sure you act is micro-chipped, so that people can locate you incase of an emergency.

Everytime your cats comes home, reward her good behaviour with her favourite treat.  Your are therefore rewarding her for coming home!
