I have two cats that pee on my bed

Question
Ok I am fostering 3 6 month old cats.  I have two boys and a girl that fare from the same litter.  I also have one of my own cats that is 2.  I have had the 3 fosters for about two weeks now and they have been doing very well.  Until a few days ago one or possible two of the cats have started to pee on my bed. They were all using the litter box and know someone has decided that they like my bed better.  I have taken them to the vet and they have no health problems or anything like that.  I need help I don't know what to do.  which ever cat is peeing and pooping on my bed does not us the litter box at all only my bed.  This is only happening when I am not home or not in the same room as the cat.  I need to know what I can do to make this stop.

Answer
Rachael,

When cats do that they are telling you that they are upset about something. Maybe a cat jumped another cat when he was using the litterbox and he is scared to use it. They may not like where the litterbox is located (some cats like privacy). Try putting a litterbox temporarily in the bedroom and see if one uses that instead of the bed. Get a bigger litterbox with some children's play sand (you can get it at Home Depot or similar building supply store) and see if that makes a difference. And also make the litter deeper.

Are they spayed and neutered? One (or more) of the cats may be coming into heat.

I am including some good links on improper elimination that may be helpful also: (copy and paste, or type the whole links into your address bar)
