Question
My question comes from the heart!...Do cats really LOVE there owners?..and how much do they understand about the emotion of love and affection?I have three Cats..Thomas,Rusty and Danny!..He was the one i was actually asking the question about. because he seems to be more affectionate than the other 2.  He was a stray that i rescued and he is very skiddish about people except for ME!..I just want to understand the way that they feel about us as humans!...i've always been a sucker for animals..but partial to Cats because they seem so fragile yet still very independant..but, Danny is very special to me because of the life he has had to lead up until i found him.  and he's kind of "daddys little boy"..not that i love him any more or less..which kind of leads me to another question..Do they have alot of the same emotions as we do?..like jealousy,depression..ect...I don't know if there is such a thing as cat psychologist'..but i just hoped that you might know?...thank you ......HARVEY HUNTOON

Answer
Hmmm...I don't think I would consider this a question more like a matter of your own opinion...I don't think anyone will be able to get into a cats mind no one has ever been able to minipulate a cat.  I do think that our cats love us in the matter we provide food, shelter and a loving environment, and they repay us with there loving purrs and cuddling.  I believe that cats do get jealous and depressed but show them in very different ways then us humans...say a new baby comes in your home and the cat feels neglected he may miss the litter box and maybe take a crap in your beautiful flower or tear up the curtins.  When a cat is depressed you can sometimes see the lonilness in there eyes or seem less playful or go somewhere and hide and not come out for days.  Cats are mostly happy animals and nothing bothers them.  Cat psychologist probably do exist!
