Female cat being aggressive to injured male

Question
My 4 year old male tabby Lulu (I know, a girl's name)was attacked by a dog. He is ok, just some cuts and broken nails and quite shaken. Since the attack my female 3 year old tabby, Missy will not leave him alone. She constantly growls at him and hisses. They are both indoor cats and the attack occurred when the male got into a part of the house where a dog we were pet sitting was staying.Missy was not present for the attack, she remained secure in a section of the house with no dogs. As soon as we rescued Lulu I bathed him to wash the cuts and put him in bed and the hissing started straight away. Missy follows him everywhere growling and hissing and I have to push Missy away from him. I have tried clapping and saying loudly 'Missy, No!' which usually stops her when she is behaving badly (which is pretty rare)but she pays no attention.

Answer
Hi Emily,

The reason for the hissing by Missy is most probably because Lulu smells differently. I would suggest that you put on some antiseptic powder on Lulu's cut to prevent any infection later. If Lulu develops fever or the wounds get infected, you should bring it to the vet immediately as the dog's bite could be lethal for a cat.
