Do cats like peeing on Down Comforters

I saw in TV where a person mentioned that cats will pee on down comforters.  I asked online, and many cat owners agreed. One said it was because the down sounds like cat litter when they kneed on it.  I don't know if thats true, but I have seen many people talk about their cats peeing on their down comforters.  Maybe its just because down is expensive, so people complain more, or maybe there is something to this.  What do you think?

Some cats just have a thing for peeing in inappropriate places, and they all choose something different.  I have one that will pee on clean laundry if I leave the laundry room door open.  Otherwise, she is a perfectly behaved cat.  Your's just happens to like down quilts.  Maybe you could cover the quilt with another quilt, or maybe not use the down one for awhile.  I don't know the answer to it, I wish I did.  Good luck and write again if you feel I can help.  Barb
