cat tails

My daughter accidently shut the cats tail in the door and took off about an inch of the cats tail. what can we do to help the cat. is it serious or will she be alright.

 Sorry i havent repleyed sooner.. ihave been on hoilday and forgot to let allexperts no..i still hope i can help.

If i was you then i would go to your vet and ask for information. It isnt serious, unless the cut is really bad. But if it isnt then she will be ok. But if u go to the vet then he may be able to give u something for it, of course the cat will be in some pain. But she will be alright. But for more help i would go to the vet.
