how to care for a baby kitten?

I found a baby kitten outside a few days ago.  When we found her her eyes were still closed.  her eyes are now open, but she is still quite small.  SHe is prolly about the size of my hand.  Here eyes are black-- is that normal?  Also she seems to meow alot...I'm feeding her about 4 times a day, but am not really sure how much to give her.  I dont have a scale, so i have no way to find out how much she weighs.  She is def. gaining weight, and she seems to be healthy...but all she seems to do is sleep, cry, eat.  I've never had a cat or any animal this dependant before and i justwant to make sure i'm doing things right.

Yes your doing the right thing but you have to feed her every 2-4 hours a day.They are very dependant at that young of an age.Her whole eye is black??? thats not normal i dont think unles its the pupil but i would take her to the vet just to make sure shes has a very good clean bill of health and to make sure she doesnt have certain infections.
