BLEEDING OF THE EAR...

HELLO BARB, MY MALE CAT HAS BLOOD OZZING OUT FROM HIS EAR.  I LOOKED UP THE SYMPTOMS ON LINE AND THE ONLY RELATION TO EAR BLEEDING WAS EAR MITES AND TRAMA TO THE HEAD.  WELL, I HAVE NOT NOTICED MY CAT SCRATCHING OR SHAKING IS HEAD ALOT.  HE IS AN INDOOR CAT SO I DONT THINK IT COULD HAVE BEEN TRAMA.... COULD THERE BE ANY OTHER REASON FOR THE BLEEDING IN HIS EAR?  THANK YOU...

Hi Irene,

I am not a vet so I really have no idea.  You need to take the cat to the vet to find out what is wrong.  It could be serious.  Please do not treat it since you really don't know the cause, and any treatment could make it worse.  Good luck.
