Siamese kitty doesnt act like siamese at all

Question
Hi,
I have a beautiful female siamese cat named Gizzie. She's almost 9 months old and I love her to death along with my other kitty Squiggly Wiggly.Squiggly is a 2 year old black male.He is not siamese just a regular house cat. This is not really a problem per say but I was wondering how come that my siamese doesn't act like her breed at all? She never "talks".Never meows, not a sound, ever.I don't think I ever heard her voice.I've read everywhere that they are very talkative and affectionate and love people. She is very sweet, yes, but never comes to me on her own. When I pick her up she lets me and even purrs loudly and she seems to enjoy me petting her and cuddling her and even stays when I take her to bed to sleep but it kind of bothers me that she doesn't follow me around or jump into my lap or voice her need for affection like my Squiggly does. And another thing. She is not in heat yet.I was told that siamese cats start as young as 4-5 months. She loves my male cat and he has been trying to mate with her every day but she just purrs at him and that's it.There is no sign at all that she knows what he is trying to do.She thinks he is just playing and in turn she just grooms him. They are both beautiful and healthy cats.Any ideas why my little girl doesn't act like a siamese kitty ? And why she is not in heat yet?
Thanks

Answer
Hi Lexxie!
Cats, including Siamese, can go up to a year before coming into heat.  You aren't going to breed the two are you? It's not a good idea to do that. There are too many unwanted kittens in the animal shelers that are being put to sleep every day because of breeding cats irresponsibly.  I hope you will both of your cats fixed. It would be the responsible thing to do.  All of my cats are full blooded, and are all fixed.  They make much better pets too.  Your male may begin to spray when she does come into heat.  If I were you, I would think about it. When they spray, it's really gross.
As far as her not being vocal, that is very unusual as Siamese are definetly talkers.  Maybe yours is more shy or as she matures, maybe she will be more so.
Sounds like you have some very nice cats!

God Bless,
Becky
