Question
Good morning. I have an 18 month old male orange tabby. I've had him since he was about 4 months old. Stray. He is not terribly cuddley, doesn't purr - but is social and playful. He also gets along very well with my 7 year old female, who seems to have adopted him as her own. Very sweet. Anyway, my question/problem is this. Recently he has begun what I feel is an unnatural obsession with the TV's in the house. ALL the tv's. And, only when they are OFF. He will stare at the tv for an hour. He doesn't normally approach it or scratch at it. He just sits and stares. One of the tv's, his favorite, is in the basement and not plugged in. When I turn on a set, he becomes disinterested and moves on. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Answer
Becky.

I have read your question and, I am sorry to say, I am just as baffled as you are by this behavior. I know cats do get fixated on things occasionally, but, usually, these things are moving and not stationary.

I am sorry I cannot be of more help.

Best regards... Norm.
