New Kitten/Sick Cat

Question
Hi. I am really seriously considering getting a new kitten. I have all the room and supplies and money to take care of it. I have a cat right now, who is around ten years, gentle, easy-going, and gets along well with humans and animals. He has arthritis and often just likes to lay around. I don't really thinkt his would be a problem as the kitten is also easy-going. i just wanted to get the opinion from an expert. Please answer with your opinion on how this will work out as soon as possible.

Answer
Due to the advanced age and arthritis, I personally would get a young adult cat, but the kitten is ok too.  You can expect some hissing and growling at first, espeically if the kitten is overly playful with the other cat, but if you let them work out their differences the "cat way", things should be ok.  I recently dealt with a smilar situation myself and now we joke that the cats are "mother and daughter" because they are so close.

Good luck and many years of happiness to you and your feline family!
