QuestionHi, I have been fostering cats n kittens for 3 years now and this is first time I adopted one that I fostered. There was him and his brother. At the clinic my kitten(Boo-he's all black) was labelled DMH and his tabby brother DSH. The day of adoption both kittens sheets were labelled as DSH. When I ask them that is what they tell me but Boo seems to be fluffier than his brother. I have fostered many kittens and I've had ones with really short hair and Boo seems to be somewhere in the middle. Mind you I have them from birth up to 6 weeks so never see them beyond that. Boo has just turned 9 weeks. How can I tell what he is. I do love the fluffy cats but either way he is a sweetheart. Thanks for helping me figure this out.

AnswerWhen you have a cat that doesn't have a specific breed it's usually put into a catch all category. These are DSH, DMH, or DLH. Meaning Domestic Short Hair, Domestic Medium Hair, and Domestic Long Hair. Unlike dogs, cats you typically find fall into one of these categories instead of a breed.
