Mom cat in heat

I rescued a cat and she gave birth two weeks ago, I believe she is now in heat, will she neglect her kittens if this happens?

Hi
it is too early for your cat to be in heat again. Sometimes after giving birth a female cat will show signs similar to going into heat but they are fake symptoms.

Your female cat will continue to look after her kittens for the next 2 months after which time the kittens will be at a stage where they can fend for themselves more. She may even continue then. If she does get pregnant again after this time this is when she will try to push her kittens away ready for the new brood.
