Cat has just had kittens today

Hi, My cat has given birth this morning to her 2nd litter of kittens at around 6am. She still looks really pregnant and has only given birth to 2 kittens (her 1st litter was 5 which was 6 mths ago) She also gave birth to something after the 2 kittens which looked like poop but was about 5cm in length and was firm and bloody. She had contractions after having this "thing" but has now stopped and its 5pm. Ive felt her tummy for more kittens but not really sure if there is anymore - she still looks quite big though and after her last litter she kind of looked skinny and saggy. Shes also not as settled as she was after her 1st litter. What do you think?

Hi Jess, the "thing" you saw was afterbirth. She should pass one afterbirth for each kitten she delivers. It sounds like she may still have an afterbirth inside her if she is restless. A cat being restless is your best sign that something is not right. I would recommend you take her and the kittens to a vet for a checkup. If she has retained an afterbirth or a kitten she can get very ill.
