Question
Hi

i have an 21yo Female tabby who recently is being attacked by our 3 younger cats aged 2(f), 7(m) and 8(m). it has only started recently. what would the reason for this be? and what can i do to prevent this?

the 2yo female starts cleaning the elderly cats ears and then starts biting and chewing on the ear with definitely force, the two males will pounce on her and bite at her scruff.

any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated

Answer
Darryl,

If I had to guess, the older cat is feeling a bit puny and the younger cats may be taking advantage of it.  I would have your older cat checked by the vet to see if she is feeling a bit off!

It is not unusual for cats to play roughly, but a sudden onset of this type of behavior might signal a problem with the 21 year old.

Best regards... Norm.
