My mom was thinking of getting a cat for
me and i do knot know what kind would be
good for an active 10 year old?

Pick one that is friendly and comes up to you easily without being afraid.. one that loves lots of petting and
attention and is easygoing around lots of people.
When you are adopting an adult cat, their personality is already set so you know what you're getting.. but if you choose a kitten, make sure to get her used to being around to lots people and pets so she gets used to it and doesn't turn into a skitterish cat as she grows up.  Some cats become more independent when they grow up anyway.
