Spotting

Question
We recently took in a pregnant stray kitten that was dropped off near our
house. She is about six
months old.  We also have two 8yr. old females and an 8yr. old male. They all
get along ok. Two
days ago she had 5 kittens. One died after birth. About 36 hours after birth
she had a small
amount (about a nickel size spot) of blood come out. Everything else seems
fine. She eats,feeds,
potties just fine. She is great with the kittens. Should I be concerned with this
slight spotting?

Hi Linda, well it sounds like  you have your hands full !! I would not be concerned about the spotting.. and actually some bloodly discharge for a few days after birth is quite normal. As long as she is eating and caring for the kittens and having normal bowel movements.. she is fine ! How are your old two managing with this nursery in your home ??? teresa
