Cat with dry skin and smelly and/or sometimes loose stool. Food allergies?

Question
Hi there,

My 1 year old cat has always had issues with loose and/or smelly stool since she was a very tiny kitten. The only thing that seems to help is the special food for cats with digestive problems. She also has very dry skin that itches her (no fleas, I checked several times) and she often has a little bit of dandruff.  I have another cat (8 years old) who is prone to urinary track infections, so we must feed him urinary track health food or a low ph formula food.  Is there something I could feed both of them that will help with both of their problems?  I want both of my babies to be happy and healthy!

Please help!

Thanks,
Brianna

Answer
Hi Brianna;  You can feed them both this diet for cats that have urinary problems...
HOME cooking :  You can be your cat's chef....

Feline Diet for Kidney problems.....
( WE can add some x-tra cottage cheese (2% milk cheese )for the "Thin" Cat-

Home made food -
"freeze up" weekly -
*** use freezer bags and take out what you need each day:  YOU can freeze the food into tupperware containers - ..... be creative so you don't have to cook more than 1 x per week.

Here is what you can make:

We have had good luck with this :
KEEP your vet up-to-date on your Feeding choices...

1 1/3 cups (2/3 pound) ground chicken or  turkey  ( Cook)
4 cups cooked white rice
4 eggs
2 tablespoons cold-pressed safflower, soy or corn oil
1/8 teaspoon iodized salt
1 teaspoon parsley, finely grated carrot or other vegetable (optional)
( CATS do NOT need veggies - optional)

Mix everything together in a large bowl.

( you can cook the chicken in advance or just place in a baking dish -  mix all and into the oven )
Otherwise, bake about 30 minutes in a moderate oven.  ( 350 )
Occasionally, substitute 1 to 3 teaspoons of liver for part of the meat.

SEE below about  the Vitamins:
You need NuVET to balance out the home cookiing:

Give each cat 1/2 a teaspoon at each feedin (OR) 2 x per day....
Feeding amounts -  1/2 cup to 3/4 cup 2 x per day...
( Depends on cat and how much they show hunger)
For the THIN kid : give 2-3 teaspoon per day of 2 to 4 % small curd cottage cheese - to help with weight gain.  The NuVET supplement can also help with Digestion and weight....

OK - so for them both to eat the same thing - MOMMA needs to home-cook......
