QuestionHello:
I have an overweight diabetic cat. What is the best food for him to eat?
Also, have a cat that vomits almost every time she eats wet food. I give her small amounts to no avail. I wondering in general if there is an overall good cat food to buy?
I have 5 cats.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

Hi Bob - Well for the diabetic cat you can go grain free - We like the Innova Cat or Wellness Cat food , sold in most pet stores : I would offer dry food and also wet food 2 x per day.
YOU can place a small amount of dry and then 1/4 small can of WET, ontop of the dry.
If you can't find Innova EVO cat food look for the Wellness brand.
Next - the diabetic should take the NuVET feline supplement each day - helps to balance out the digestion and keeps your cat kid healthy. Many cats take 1/2 to 1 full teaspoon of NuVET feline per day - mix into the wet food:
Not sold in stores: Holistic and sold here thru Holistic vets: 1-800-474-7044
or go to http://www.nuvet.com/81098
YOU are looking for NuVET Plus feline powder -
20.00 for the 30 count bottle
Call in if you want the small bottle of 30 count.
Tell them Pet nurse Marie sent you with order code 81098

Now for the cat with the vomit problem - Can you just feed this kid a good quality wet food such as the Innova or Wellness ---? Sometimes the VET can order a drug to help with belly acids.
For now, try to offer a good quality food in very small amounts.
I sure hope you can find one of the foods I referred to above.
