Smelly ear

I have a 4 month old pittbull and he got an ear infection for about 3 days and i cleaned it and it went away but his ear still smells.  Will his ear smell like this for the rest of his life or is there something that i can do the correct this?

In a young dog like yours, if the infection and smell persist, there is a good chance that the pup is allergic to the food he is eating. Discuss this with your vet. If there is a yeast infection in the ear, it will persist until the underlying cause for the inflammation in the ear is diagnosed and treated.
