My kittens eye

I have a 13 week old kitten.  I just got her a week ago.  A few days ago, discharge started coming from one of her eyes.  Today, her eye is almost completely closed.  Is this pinkeye?  Can human eye drops be used?  Thank you!

Hi Becky!  No, human eye drops can not be used on a feline or canine, as human's have different ph levels in our systems than our pets, which could cause very bad effects for them like corneal ulceration or blindness.
It sounds as though your kitten has conjunctivitis, which is very common pet eye infection, very much like the human pink eye.  A vet visit is definitely in order, as they will be able to prescribe antibiotic eye drops that will clear this up in a few days.
