hearing diminished

15 yr. old All American neutered male

About 6 mos. hearing greatly diminished.
Has had quite a few ear infections through the years. Has never had wax removal.

Do you think it could be wax build-up or more likely just age? If wax, can you recommend a good
cleaning solution ?

In order to know if it is wax, tumor, middle ear infections, or polyps, you need to have the cat examined by a vet.  If it is wax, the best way to remove it is with the cat heavily sedated or anesthetized.  Sometimes cats get wax plugs on their eardrums that extend through the eardrum.  If that's the case, that is more complicated.
