My Maltese is losing protein thru urine. What can be done to help him? Thanks

A urine culture should be done to rule out any underlying infection.  I would place him on an antibiotic such as Baytril in case of low-grade pylonephritis.   He should also be tested for Lyme Disease.

Enalapril can be given to help reduce protein loss in the urine.  Also, diet can be targeted.  Hill's K/D is specifically designed for kidney disease.
