cat irregular urine

This morning I noticed blood in the urine of our cat.  It was half in the box and half out as if he was in a rush to get away from the box.  I am guessing a UTI??  I thought he may have felt a pain(as a person with a UTI would) while urinating and thus left the box half way through. He is an outdoor cat that sleeps in our attached garage.  Help??  Thanks, Trace

Get him to the vet!  It could be a UTI or could be Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease and associated with crystals....male cats can what we call "BLOCK" -- meaning they can NOT urinate and within 48 hours will die if the obstruction is not relieved...bloody urine may be the first sign of this!
