Mother cat losing ear on hairs

Question
My mother cat who had her kittens March 4th and is nursing is now losing hair on the tops of her ears. I have been feeding her Purina One cat food and last week a few cans of veterinarian soft kitten food. Although she has not had any soft kitten food  for about a week (we were feeding her this cause she is young and skinny). Is she simply malnurished and I should buy some more vet soft kitten food or could it be something else?

Answer
It could be other things (ringworm, etc) but I can tell you she isn't getting the nutrition she needs at all with Purina One.
She needs to be put on Science Diet Kitten Growth until she has completely weaned these kittens and is spayed.
She is using all her calcium and protein feeding these babies and it will not be replenished with any Purina food. Trust me on this one.
I have been studying small animal nutrition for over 27 yrs and I know what goes into Purina and more importantly- what it doesn't provide.

Science Diet, on the other hand, has been formulated and researched by Veterinarians for over 50 yrs and I have seen clients cats do so well they would write me thank you notes!

You can't get better nutrition out there that is more complete and balanced even if you were cooking it yourself.
Kitten Growth has everything she needs to boost her health, help her gain some weight and to make some healthy, strong babies.

She will benefit from it now and if you switch her to adult later on she will benefit for a long life. This food has the right balance of nutrients and is made with the same formula every time so there are no surprises from bag to bag.

Put her on this food and you will see a huge difference in her after three weeks or you can take back the bag and get a 100% refund. No other food will give you that guarantee.
It may cost you a bit more to start but after the first 5 lb bag she will slow down her consumption as her energy needs are met and fulfilled. After that it will cost you about $00.40 a feeding to feed her.

So that is what I would do but switch her over slowly after a 7 day period. The way to do this is on the bag. If you can't find it write to me again and I will send you the directions.

Good luck and let me know what is going on. Chances are she doesn't have ring worm or mange but if it spreads after getting her on this food then you might want to have the vet do a scraping of her ears.
