kitten tail

Question
Hello, not sure if you can answer this but a kitten that we got recently had a bald crusty patch all the way around the tail about an inch long and an inch away from the tip of her tail.  She was the runt of the litter and we thought the other kittens may have been chewing on it. It has been a week now and the tail is no longer crusty and I can see small hairs growing on that section of the tail.  However it seems that the length of the bald spot is growing.  Should we be worried?  Does it need to be docked?  Her whiskers were also nubs when we got her, but are growing in slowly. It may be unrelated, but I was not sure.  Thank you so much.

Answer
Hi Charli:  Well, it doesn't sound like ringworm.  That is a rash - bacteria that can hit cats.  I wonder if it is a yeast overgrowth... Hard to say without looking at it.  You can try a few things at home..  I have a few suggestions.  It they don't help, then please have a vet take a look.

Let's get this baby onto a good food.  Innova Makes a Wonderful kitten food.  If you have a local pet store they should sell Innova. YOU will feed less of this and your cat will poop less.  Innova is very condensed without junk fillers.

Next, Get some NuVET Plus Feline Skin and Coat Supplement.
Look for NuVET Plus Feline Formula on this web site : ONLY sold by breeders, kennels and vets.  Save money and buy from the manufacturer.
Give this order code / they don't sell to the public with a code: 81098
http://www.nuvet.com/81098
The NuVET powder can be mixed into some tuna , 1 time per day.
This will help to build the kitten's Immune system.  Excellent product.
Only about .55 cents per day for this treatment.
Great to give each day.  Good for all ages and stages of a cat's life.

Also, last thing you can do is get some Salmon Oil.  Find pure salmon oil and give 1/2 teaspoon only 1 x per day.  EXCELLENT for the skin and coat.

If you follow my advice, you should see some good results in 2-3 weeks or less.
BEST of Luck
