Question
Hello! My mom got this cute little puppy for her graducation present from one of her teacher friends. He was a run away and was not taken cared of very well. We have had him almost a whole month, but the last week have been really scarry. He has been throwing up and then falling into seizures. We found out that my mom had given him a little bit of human toothpaste and some of our others dogs medication on accident. We thought he might have just over dosed on something, but it is still continuing. Its really scarry to see and so sad. Thank you for your help.

Answer
You need to get this dog to the vet's right away. Human toothpaste is extremely toxic to dogs if ingested. How did he get some by accident?
What kind of medication was given by accident? I need to know what it is to tell you more, but already the toothpaste isn't good.

I don't want to sound harsh but are you sure your Mom is capable of caring for this dog? Two accidental doses of toxic substances given make me worried for his health in the long term.

You need to have a vet see him for these seizures. He may just have a problem with seizures that have taken this long to show up, or he may be having some neurological problems related to the toothpaste (which has toxic flouride in it) and the other drugs.

In any case, he needs to be seen as soon as possible. You can't just let him go on seizuring and not do anything about it. These need to be evaluated and controlled. You wouldn't let a child seizure and not take them into a doctor so I know you will do the right thing and get him into a vet's. He should have one already from when you got him and had him heartworm tested and vaccinated.
Good luck and let me know how he is doing after you see the vet.
