ANSWER: Linda - We can fix this problem.. You will need to change your dog food and add a few supplements.  What food brand are you feeding?

QUESTION: hi its linda again with the 8 wk golden who never stops pooing,he is eating (natural balance) from pet co no treats, and he gets (nuvet) that I ordered via my breeders suggesgen. Its a vitamine wafer thats  boosts his immune system,as for table food he does'nt get any,as I said in my first quesgen he gets 1/2 cup dry I add a little water and 3 tablespoons of perscription I D can from the vet.we just got our pup 1 week ago he flew from indiana, had a 5 hour delay was wormed and given a vacination all in 1 day.I imagine all that with seperation anxiety would through my system out of wack to.His poos were very loose the first few days so I was scared he was so little the vet agreed on the stress thing, now his poos are more solid I guess normal.what is normal anyway?are they supposed to be a little soft/firm medium kinda.I have no idea Im just trucking along doing my best.  thanks for all your help.  linda

Answer
Hi:  Glad to see your Breeder Referred you to NuVET Plus - Excellent - this is for a lifetime of health!!! Great.
Now, as for the food - Natural Balance is a good one, too.
I wouldn't change the food...

Here are my ideas for you:

Feed this boy the 3 meals per day - Just cut down a little on the wet food and add Canned pumpkin - Pure canned pumpkin / give him 1 heaping teaspoon at the first 2 meals of the day.. YOU need to give him canned pure pumpkin for at least 4 weeks.  ( 1 to 2 teaspoons per day )  If you see his stools getting nice and solid you can reduce to 1.5 teaspoons per day.
The canned pumpkin will give him some nice quality fiber.
( pure pumpkin no added sugar)

Next - Buy some Kellogg All Bran cereal - give him 1/2 a teaspoon every OTHER day.. ( for a lifetime... if needed) good for his body and stools...  YOU can do this 2-4 x per WEEK..
Excellent for him.  YOU won't do the pumpkin forever because that would add too many calories.

Make sure this boy gets a potty break after each meal... He should poop within 10 to 20 minutes of his meals... ( because of the fibers we will be adding...)

I sure hope this helps your baby...

Once more things: give him some BENE BAC gel for about 3 days - this will give him the Probiotics his belly needs.  YOU should be able to find this BENE BAC at most pet stores..

BEST Wishes on All
