uneven hair growth

My dog's hair grows unevenly.  Her white undercoat grows very slowly, while her tan-colored hair grows quickly, but in small patches around her body.  What could cause this?

Hi Gary - Could be poor nutrition or she is missing some vitamins?
Also, sometimes thyroid problems can be related to skin and coat issues.  You could take her in to the vet for some blood work.
I have some suggestions for your on feeding brands and supplements..

What band of food do you feed?  Also, are you adding any oils or supplemnts into her food?
