CAT PARASITES

FOR THE PAST SEVERAL MONTHS MY CAT HAS THESE LITTLE WHITE THINGS COMING OUT OF HER REAR END. ONCE THEIR OUT,THEY DRY UP AND LOOK LIKE GRAINS OF RICE. I BOUGHT HARTZ MOUNTAIN WORMER,BUT IT DOES SEEM TO GO AWAY,IS THIS A HEALTH HAZZARD FOR HER. WHAT CAN I DO?

Hi Carol!  This is the classic symptom of a Tape Worm.  You will need to take your cat to your veterinarian, as this requires a special dewormer that only a veterinarian can administer.  Getting this problem treated as soon as possible is very important, as parasites reproduce very quickly and can result in death if not treated.  A tape worm dewormer that works with one dosage is called Drontal.  It kills parasites within 3-4 days.  Your veterinarian will be able to give this to you and it is very inexpensive.
