Lump on Dogs neck

Question
I have a 16 year old chihuahua and I noticed a lump the side of her neck.  The lump is the size of a golf ball.  In addition to her lump, she has a loss of appetite, was limping, and has become lethargic.  I took her to the emergency pet hospital and they examined her blood but did not give me a diagnoses. ??? I was told to take her to her regular vet the following day. Can you please help?

Jennifer, I am sorry, this doesn't sound good at all.  It may be her thyroid or even a tumor... Please see your vet today.

Remember she is 16 years old... most chi doggies don't live past this age.  Good Luck!
