Dogs anal glands

Question
My dog scoots across the carpet or grass on a regular basis. We have to have his anal glands expressed a few time a year. What can we do to take care of his problem?

Answer
Other than having them removed (not recommended) all you can do is get them expressed regularly.

Some dogs just have issues with their glands and no one really knows why. They are just too small, or constricted or whatever.

But surgery is risky due to the possibility of incontinence, etc.
Some vets can do the surgery with no problems, some really mess it up.
Ask around for a vet that does them regularly and ask for referrals.
