Question
Hi.i have a 6 month old staffy puppy that's almost housetrained..when she goes inside she goes on the designated paper area..but since last week when she had a bout of sickness & diarrhea she has taken to weeing on my bed & my sons bed..she had a course of anti-biotics which made her better but this is causing me some distress as i am 8 months pregnant & i also have 2 other staffys.{her mum & her aunty} which all sleep with me at night..i tried putting her out of the bedroom at night but all she did was cry..pleaese can you tell me what i can do to help this matter..thank you..x

Answer
Once she is past this illness she should be able to hold it and go outside again. If you keep training her to use papers inside she will not be house trained- she will be trained to go on papers in the house. A house trained dog goes outside and outside only.

You need to start taking her outside each time when she needs to go- not to papers. She should be taken out as soon as she is done eating and on a leash.
That way she knows that she has to go outside when the urge hits- which is usually right after a meal. I know it's tough when you are pregnant but having three dogs is hard no matter what.
I urge you to enlist the help of who ever lives with you to start working with this dog and getting her back on track.

Otherwise you will have quite a messy house with a baby crawling around and a dog that thinks the house is where it is supposed to toilet and it is not.
