Question
I hope you can give me some direction.  I am being tormented with itching, eyes, nose and scalp.  I have broken out with what looks like roscea.  However, I am beginning to wonder if I have demodex skin parasite.  I now see that my bro in law is itching his face a lot and he also now has what looks like roscea.  My sis in law is now having trouble itching face and head.  Unfortunately, she has alzheimer's and cant communicate.  The three of us are together alot, in each others home and auto.  Unlike me, they both have a pet.  I hesitate to talk to my doctor, I think he will think I am crazy.  How do you suggest I approach this subject.

thank you very much for any advice you may be able to give to me.

Eliz

Answer
Well you don't have demodex mites, at least not like that! It sounds more like you have poison oak or ivy or something like that. Roscea is not contagious, and you cannot get demodex from a dog or cat.

Some cats do carry scabies mites and those can be passed to humans but they are rare. You would also have them on your body not just your face.

Ringworm can be passed from pets but you are not describing the symptoms of that either. Ringworm is always in roundish, red, scaly patches on skin and it would not be in your eyes nor does it look like roscea.

You most definitely need to see a doctor!!
