QuestionHi,
I've got a bit of a strange query about my dog. She's a 4yr old blenheim Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and her hair appears to be turning a shade of pink! The discolouration appears to be mainly around her mouth, her underbelly, up the inside of her legs and along her tail. There are no identifiable changes in her routine - she's on the same diet as she's always been on and there has been no change in her environment or where she walks. She had an ear infection about 4 weeks ago and was given Surolan (an ear treatment) for it and some painkillers - I'm not sure what. Other than that nothing has changed. Any ideas would be gratefully received.
Thanks,
Sarah
AnswerThe change is most likely due to her licking...the enzymes in saliva and tears will turn white areas of the hair a pinkish-brown. I would consider switching her food to one that is fish and pototo or venison or duck, as it is very like that she may have some food allergies sparking the excessive licking.
