Yeast infection

Question
Can Canesten cream be used to treat a dog's yeast infection in the ear?  How about Monostat?

Answer
Yes, they both probably would work.  The problem in yeast infections is that the dog is an allergic dog, so without taking care of the allergies, the yeast infection will just return.  And the ear is often very waxy deep in the canal of yeasty ears, so a deep ear flush all the way down to the eardrum is necessary BEFORE treatment to make sure that the antifungal medication gets to the skin of the ear and it does not just sit on top of the ear wax.
