Ear Discomfort

My dog's ears are the "flop-over" kind.  the inner flaps are red and warm (like a fever).  They are very tender -- when I went to rub his ears, he yelped and started whimpering.  What could be the cause?

Hi Laura!  It definately sounds as though your dog has developed an ear infection.  Dogs with "floppy" ears are often prone to ear infections.  Your veterinarian will be able to prescribe for you an antibiotic ear drop that will cure this infection!
