Answer
Hi Brenda!  The best thing to feed a dog is dog food. It has all the essential nutrients and vitamins/minerals in it that a dog needs to build a healthy muscular, cardiovascular, and skeletal system.  Some great dog foods are Solid Gold Hunden Flocken, Innova, Nature's Recipe, and Nutro.  Science Diet and Eukanuba are also good foods.
People food is not good for a dog, as it causes them to become overweight, and brings on the concern for diabetis.  If you would like to treat your dog to people, here are two "recipes" that are extremely healthy for your dog's digestive system, and also can be given to firm stool if that ever becomes a problem.  Boil some BONELESS SKINLESS chicken breast until fully cooked.  Add no salt or spices as these can upset a dog's digestive system.  Mix the chicken with some plain white rice.  The second "recipe" is exactly the same, only replacing the chicken with some boiled hamburger.  As you boil the meats, the fat boils off, which makes a nice lean and healthy food for your dog to snack on.
I hope this helps and please give that boxer baby tons of kisses for me!
