Puppy skin problems

Question
I purchased a puppy 1 week ago from a private breeder. She is a mixed breed..yorkie/bull terrier. When we bought her the breeder told us that the litter had just been wormed the day before. I bought the puppy on Friday and then took her to the vet on Tuesday. She had diahrrea very bad and was passing a lot of worms. He did not want to give her the first shots yet because of the diahrrea. I am to bring her back in another week. She still has diahrrea and is still passing a few worms here and there. She still eats and drinks but now has a new problem that is concerning me...She has developed large areas on her head area and a few small areas on her body that look like dried up sores. They look like they are scabbed over but I didn't notice them at first and I have given her several baths. She only weighs 9 ozs. What could these sores be? I have other pets in the house and I am hoping it is not mange.
Thanks for your help

Answer
Hi Monica!

Crongratulations on getting a new puppy!Wow what a combo? Yorkie and Bull Terrier ? Is that a Boston Terrier or an actual Bull Terrier?

Anway, what you are describing does sound like the mange. You really need to take her back to the vet. They can dip her and it will get rid of it. There are two differnt types of mange. "Sarcoptic" is easy to get rid of and is probably what she has. "Demodepic" not sure on spelling, is harder to get rid of , but can be done. The vet will take a skin scraping to find out which one it is.

Also, if she is still passing worms, she was probably infested and definetly needs to be dewormed again.

I hope this has been helpful and I wish you the best of luck! Please keep me posted and give that Yorie mix millions of kisses for me!Sending wagging tails your way!
