Question
Hello!

my salt tank is aobut 2 months old, I have 4 fish, 3 corals, and a couple hermits.
I have about 23lbs of live rock, protien skimer and circulation powerhead.
the other day the system took a shock.
I lost a goby, nearly lost the other fish, now they are ok, but my soft corals are limp and not their fullest, i dropped in 2 snails and they died within hours. all my readings (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, Ph all show ok, yet things arent....

Answer

Shane,

Did you have a sudden drop in salinity ? Sounds to me like you may have had an NH3 spike but you said your readings were all fine.  I do not do much regarding soft corals but do they have adequate light/nutrients. They are also affected by high nitrates/nitrites.
1.Have you been doing your water changes.
2. Perhaps a heater malfunction.
3. How are the fish doing  are they showing signs of stress.

I really can not give concrete anwsers because I am not physically there.. I hope this helps Triple check your water chemistry.

Godd luck todd
